1983 the County of Tuolumne enters into a contract with PG&E to purchase much of the Tuolumne Ditch system from PG&E for $900,000

On June 3, 1983, the County of Tuolumne enters into a contract with PG&E to purchase much of the Tuolumne Ditch system from PG&E for $900,000. Under the contract, PG&E agrees to provide water to the County free of charge. PG&E refuses to include water rights as part of the contract.
